We are very pleased to share that we are now offering wedding photography. We would love to share more information with you, about who we are and how we work below:
Who we are:
We are Phoebe Whiston and Matthew Butler, photographers and partners in life and work. We have been working together professionally in London for the past seven years, under the name Bean Studios. We work with brands on creative imagery, mostly working directly with fashion, beauty & lifestyle brands. Our clients include Tiffany & Co, Harrods, Flannels & John Lewis.
We also shoot magazine editorials, with our work published in Vogue, Elle, Harpers Bazaar & L’Officiel.
We are based in London, which is where we mostly work. In 2024, we spent the year living in Mallorca, which opened us up to a more natural way of shooting and further expanded our interest in photography. Since then, we have enjoyed travelling and taking photos, something that has further developed our photographic style, which we carry forward when shooting weddings.
Matthew has over 15 years photography experience, having studied photography at UAL university in London. Phoebe is a photographer & art director, coming from an art and fashion background, having studied at Central Saint Martins and London College of Fashion. We use our unique perspectives to shoot collaboratively, something that really comes into it’s own when documenting a wedding day. We draw from our experience shooting luxury fashion and editorials, as well as our strong interest in travel, to capture a wedding in a sophisticated, stylised & elevated way.
How we shoot:
We are two photographers, so we would both be shooting throughout your wedding day. This offers a really nice opportunity to see the day through both of our individual perspectives, as well as picking up on details, angles or special moments that could otherwise be missed. Our individual photography styles perfectly complement each other; Matt’s style favours wider, perfectly framed shots that give a beautiful overview of your day. While Phoebe tends to capture the smaller candid moments and details. Preferring to blend in with the event, we like to capture moments as they naturally unfold.
We shoot on film, both on medium format and 35mm, using the same film stocks and cameras that we use for Vogue fashion editorials. In addition to film, we will also shoot your wedding on two digital cameras, which will make up the majority of the album of images. Our editing and grading of digital photos aligns perfectly with our film work, to produce a coherent outcome.
